Field Management
Guides for the growing side of Potato Diary: your fields, the plantings in them, and the visits you record as the crop grows.
The Field Management pages are in the sidebar, under Record Keeping › Field Management. If you're new to the sidebar, see Getting around the app.
Available guides
- Creating a field — Set up a parcel of land with its grower, location, boundary and What 3 Words.
- Creating a planting — Record one variety planted in a field for the season, with its history, fertiliser and key dates.
- Recording a visit — Log ground cover, leading tuber size, soil temperature, photos, comments and issues, for a planting or for a field before it's planted.
Field View
Each field has its own page, with a tab bar covering everything recorded against it. Open it from the Fields list: click the field's ID, then View. There's one guide per tab:
- Field Details tab — The field's overview: visit photos, summary cards, and ground cover and leading tuber charts.
- Plantings tab — The field's plantings, with progress bars for each key date.
- Visits tab — A card for every visit recorded against the field.
- Nematicides tab — Nematicide and fungicide applications.
- Seed tab — Seed stocks and seed treatments for each planting.
- Attachments tab — Seed maps, application records and other files kept against the field.
Elsewhere in the sidebar
- Map View — Your fields on a satellite map, with each one's crop details.
- Field Visits (under Visits) — Every field visit as a card, with filters and a summary of the top issues.
